Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Bostanci is an Associate Professor and Master’s Programs Coordinator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UNT. He directs the Thermal Management Lab and co-leads the UNT Industrial Assessment Center. His major research and teaching area is thermal sciences. He conducts both fundamental and applied research, and possesses experience at various stages of technology development projects such as conceptualizing, designing, building, testing and evaluating prototypes, demonstrating technology feasibility, and reporting. He has been leading or actively contributing to projects for the US federal R&D agencies, US military, prime defense contractors, and industry. Before joining UNT in 2012, Dr. Bostanci worked as a Lead Engineer at RINI Technologies, Inc. His efforts included leading and participating in various projects for AFRL, DARPA, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman, mainly for the cooling of high-power lasers and electronics onboard military tactical platforms and hybrid electric vehicles. He authored 50+ publications including book chapter, refereed journal articles and conference proceedings, and technical reports. Dr. Bostanci has been teaching Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics Applications, Experimental Thermal Sciences, Senior Design, Thermal Management, and Project Supervision classes for Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology majors at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
